What is your favorite Marysia style and why?
I love all the swimwear pieces with the scalloped edges. They are so simple and yet have that special something to them which pretty much reflects my own style as well. I like it simple and classic with an edge. I also love the Palm Springs Maillot. I am obsessed with one-pieces and have seen my swimwear preference move from bikinis to one-pieces lately.
What is your style advice for packing for vacation?
For a summer vacation I definitely focus on the swimwear. I pack a different piece of swimwear for each day of the trip. It really is what I am wearing most of the time anyway and the good thing about it is that a couple more bikinis or one-pieces don’t take up much space in the suitcase. Another advantage of changing your swimwear regularly is that you won’t get obvious tan-lines. I don’t pack masses of rtw and focus on shoes and jewelry to update and change a look. I never travel without my mini steamer which I use to de-crease all my evening dresses and shirts.
What are your 5 packing essentials for a warm weather getaway?
I can’t keep this to five. My staples are: plenty of bikinis and one-pieces, an exaggerated sunhat, flat leather sandals from ATP and Ancient Greek Sandals and a few different oversized cotton shirts in light colors as cover-ups for day. For the evening I pack my go to black slip dress from Protagonist and mainly silk pieces which feel lovely in the heat. A long sleeved black silk dress from Swedish brand Deitas is a favorite of mine for summer evenings. It feels light and still keeps me kind of warm when there’s a breeze. Then I pack a few black evening shoes- slides from The Row are a favorite – and jewelry from Anissa Kermiche and Sophie Buhai.
What were your trip highlights in Turks and Caicos?
Definitely spending time with my family. I have three younger sisters who I don’t see as much anymore since I have moved to London (they live back home in Switzerland). The sea in Turks and Caicos is stunning! And the time. Just doing nothing, laying at the beach all day long is such a privilege and contrast to my otherwise really busy working life in London.
Any tips for someone visiting?
The Parrot Cay resort by Como Shambala we stayed in is amazing and I would highly recommend it. It’s laid back luxury. I had an Ayurveda consultation and learned how to meditate, things that I will try to incorporate into my ever day life back home.
